When everything collapses
Pema Chödrön
One of the basic tenets of Buddhism is:, that there are paths to contentment and lasting happiness for every person. The Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön shows very pragmatic options in her book, how to free yourself from your suffering. Her advice is sometimes provocatively direct and challenges the reader, to venture into the wide field of his difficulties full of curiosity.
Cutting through spiritual materialism
Chögyam Trungpa
Walking the spiritual path correctly is a very difficult undertaking. It contains countless wrong turns and dead ends, which becomes a distorted one, egocentric interpretation of spirituality. We can delude ourselves, that we develop spiritually, while instead we only strengthen our self-centeredness through spiritual techniques. Trungpa calls this fundamental error spiritual materialism. After this look at the dead ends, that spiritual seekers can get into, the author shows the basics of the true spiritual path.
The book of the meditative life
Chögyam Trungpa
The Shambhala teaching assumes this, that there is a deep human wisdom, with which the problems of the world can be overcome, actually exists. And this wisdom does not belong to any particular culture or religion, It still only comes from the West or the East. Rowohlt Tb., 1996
The myth of freedom and the path of meditation
Chögyam Trungpa
The myth of freedom, whose author Chögyam Trungpa is currently the most discussed Dharma master in the West, interprets the idea of freedom in the broader context of Tibetan Buddhism. By spanning the gap between the most esoteric teachings of the East and the everyday realities of the West, he shows us, like our behaviors, our prejudices and even our spiritual practices can become chains, that bind us to repeated disappointments and situations of despair.
